M.Sc. Renewable Energies & Energy Efficiency
Senior Engineer
Heat planning – transformation plans – potential and feasibility studies
Focus
- Heat planning
- Transformation plans, potential and feasibility studies
- Decarbonisation of process heat
Lina Wett works at Hamburg Institut in the field of renewable heat, developing and evaluating sustainable heat supply solutions. Her work includes creating transformation plans, potential and feasibility studies for climate-neutral heat supply in cities and neighbourhoods with a particular focus on heating networks, as well as simulating and modelling complex energy systems. Among other things, she deals with the simulation and modelling of complex energy systems. In addition, she supports companies in the transformation of process heat. As a trained energy consultant for residential buildings, Lina Wett can map energy-efficient renovation at the building level in a detailed and practical manner.
Professional experience & qualification
After completing her master’s degree in Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency at the University of Kassel, Lina Wett worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy System Technology (IEE) in the Thermal Energy Systems Technology department. There, she initially gained practical experience as a student assistant and master’s student before leading projects on sector-coupled energy systems and developing transformation concepts for process heat and BEW feasibility studies as a research assistant. Thanks to her further training as an energy efficiency expert for residential buildings, she has in-depth knowledge of building renovation.
She previously completed a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering at HAW Hamburg and cultural studies (major) with business administration as a minor at Leuphana University Lüneburg.
