Dr. Alice Sakhel works at Hamburg Institut mainly in the field of verification of renewable energies, especially in industry and district heating. Another focus is on heating strategies for residential buildings.
Before joining Hamburg Institut, Dr. Alice Sakhel worked as a consultant for the Federal Government’s Science Platform for Climate Protection. Their task is to advise the government – especially the BMU and the BMBF – on current climate protection laws and to provide impetus for legislation. She also worked as a consultant for energy statistics at Agora Energiewende for about two years.
Dr. Alice Sakhel completed her diploma studies in business administration at the University of Cologne, with a specialisation in international management at the FGV in São Paulo. In her doctoral thesis at the University of Hamburg in the field of environmental and energy management, she researched the topics of climate reporting to reduce uncertainties on the financial markets, the effects of external consulting on the implementation of energy efficiency measures in companies, and entrepreneurial handling of uncertainties regarding climate regulations.
