At Hamburg Institut, Max-Julian Gerlach supports companies, local authorities and administrations on their way to a sustainable heat supply and climate neutrality. He focuses on the modelling and optimisation of energy systems, the creation of action plans and greenhouse gas balancing.

During his Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Planning and Management in Denmark, the engineer already worked as a student trainee at Hamburg Institut. He also gained practical experience in the Climate Sector Project of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), at BBH-Consulting, at the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) and in the Environment and Construction Unit of the Permanent Representation of Germany to the EU in Brussels.
